Studio Session with Matt Cook

I recently invited my friend and local photographer Matt Cook into my studio to document my newest collection. The goal was to capture high-resolution images for my portfolio and for upcoming print releases. I needed images that felt true to the actual textures, color, and detail of the work, which I always struggle to capture on my own.

While we were planning the shoot, Matt suggested we also capture a few lifestyle shots of me working in the studio and I’m so glad he did!

There’s something important about documenting process, not just the finished piece, but the space, the materials, the layering, this is something I can’t really do on my own. My mixed media work is built slowly, piece by piece, and these images help tell that part of the story.

If you’re looking for a photographer, I highly recommend Matt. You can find him on Instagram at @eighth_element or visit his website at eighthelement.co.
