I have created many things and explored many different mediums. I love to try new things, see what interests me, explore it in depth and take parts of what I have learned and move on to the next project. Here are a few explorations from the past.

Music

I was in a band throughout my college years, playing guitar and writing most of the music. Our band, Voices Beyond the Door, practiced and wrote in an underground limestone mine on my grandfather’s property in Bonner Springs, KS. We played several local shows and tried recording a few times, but it never quite came together. I always regretted not having anything captured from that time, so in 2024 I set out to revisit those songs—reworking my bandmates’ parts, making them my own, and finally recording the music we spent years creating. Every part on these recordings—guitar, percussion, keyboard, and bass—is performed by me, and all the music is original.

Hand Illustrated Shoes

From 2011 to 2016, I created over 500 pairs of custom, hand-illustrated shoes. Each pair was drawn freehand with a fine-point waterproof fabric marker on white canvas shoes. I traveled to Comic-Con conventions across the Midwest and also sold online to clients around the world.

In 2014, actor Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Walking Dead) commissioned me to create shoes for the cast and production crew of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, James Gunn, Sean Gunn, and Pom Klementieff.

Other celebrity clients included Scott Wilson (The Walking Dead, In Cold Blood), Jason Mewes (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), Taran Killam (Saturday Night Live), and Doug Jones (Hocus Pocus, Crimson Peak).
